You’ve made it to my blog! Thank you for being here. I’m Sarah or Saz or Sair to just about everyone, mum of grown-up girlies, part-time real estate marketer and blogger from leafy Surrey.

To coin a phrase from a lady that knows a lot about the peaks and troughs of life, 2019 was my Annus Horribilis when I was made redundant from my job and a corporate career in marketing spanning over 20 years.  What I didn’t know then was that that was meant to be, and as a result of the hardship I dealt with that year I now work the hours I want to in a job that I really love and get more time to do my own thing.

As I was looking around at what was out there for hip cool mid-lifers like me, I found there wasn’t much on offer in the way of blogs and podcasts, certainly not one with an English accent!  So Self Help Saz was born.

I chose the title of my blog because people do come to be me for advice, but really, I am feeling my way through life, making it up as I go along, just like everyone else!

I am at my happiest with all things hippy, esoteric and spiritual, but please don’t let that put you off, because I hide it well, although you will definitely see it sprinkled through my posts.

I’m an ad man’s dream, according to my husband, and beauty products are my weakness.  I have tried and tested too numerous to count in a bid to smooth out the wrinkles and tightening things up a little!  You’ll hear a lot about them right here.

I love cooking and developing recipes. In fact I love nothing more than going to a restaurant and trying to recreate what I ate there at home.  And I have to say that generally my critics are kind to my culinary endeavours, with only the occasional bad review!

My favourite thing to do is laugh!  Simple as that.  If I haven’t laughed until I’ve cried on a daily basis then it’s a day wasted as far as I’m concerned!

So, there you have it; me and my blog in a nutshell.

If you fancy a bit of valuable ‘me time’, then grab your tipple of choice, relax and browse away.

I would love to hear what you think of the blog and the individual posts, so please don’t be shy and comment.

And if you want to suggest a topic to cover on the blog or you have a question for Ask Saz, then you can reach me here, I always reply!

Thanks for generously using your time to read my blog.

Much love and light (hippy reference again)

Three of my favourite quotes

“Do one thing every day that scares you.”
